Seven years have gone by since YPFB decided to be the protagonist of the most important event of the hydrocarbons industry in Bolivia, and with good reason, since a few years earlier, thanks to the Nationalization of Hydrocarbons decreed by the President of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, Evo Morales Ayma, YPFB took on the role of being the principal actor of the economic history of the country, providing resources for national development and operating the oil and gas chain, including the industrialization of gas, a project that had long been yearned for, since the 1960.
Today we are able to state that the YPFB International Oil & Gas Congress is part of the regional agenda of the hydrocarbons sector, with a yearly increase in the number of speakers, panellists and participants from several countries and continents of the globe, with simultaneous qualitative expansion of the field of activity of Yacimientos, Bolivia’s national oil company, from being a residual company to becoming the country’s foremost corporation.
This said, one of the most important variables for the consolidation of the YPFB International Oil & Gas Congress as the platform for analysis and discussion of the most relevant topics in the hydrocarbons field at the regional and world levels was the continuous and decided participation of the President and Vice-President of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, Evo Morales Ayma and √Ālvaro Garc√≠a Linera.
The seventh version of the YPFB Congress will dedicate its two days of committed and productive work to the endeavours of the oil and gas industry in the context of the shale revolution and new technologies, the emergence of new actors in the market and the increasingly competitive presence of renewable energy sources. Thus, this year the 7th YPFB International Oil & Gas Congress is to be named ‚ÄúNew players, markets and technology: the challenging chapter of the oil and gas industry‚ÄĚ, carrying out both its masterly presentations and its panels based on two thematic axes, i) the present times and perspectives of gas and oil in the region and the world, and ii) the petrochemical industry, energy, and the challenges of the hydrocarbons industry in Bolivia.
We thank our speakers for their presence, who at this grand event display the results of decades of work and dedication in management and analysis of the oil and gas industry of the region and the world. I also want to show appreciation for the presence of over one thousand participants at this Congress, demonstrating once again the capacity of bringing people together of Bolivia’s most important gas and oil company.
